RGNGWTRI & CAPACITY BUILDING

Rajiv Gandhi National Ground Water Training & Research Institute (RGNGWTRI), Premier National Level training Institute has a pan India presence and one of the kind in the groundwater domain. RGNGWTRI organises various training courses for Officers and Staff of Central Ground Water Board (CGWB) as part of Recruitment Rules (RR) and skill upgradation at multiple levels as well. The subject matters in the training courses cover various stages of their professional careers starting from the Induction, Mid-career and Senior Management levels. In addition to this, Officers from other Central and State Government Organizations, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO) as well as University Faculty Members and Students associated with the realm of ground water are also beneficiaries of RGNGWTRI training programmes. Through every training calendar, Tier II and Tier III trainings are being organised on pertinent themes, through Regional Offices of CGWB in all states of India

MILESTONES

Rajiv Gandhi National Ground Water Training & Research Institute (RGNGWTRI) was established in 1997 as India's first exclusive Training Institute in Groundwater studies . Since 2012 (XII Plan) RGNGWTRI Institute has embarked upon a three-tier training system(Tier I - National Level, Tier II - State/District & Tier III - Block Level) which can create a pool of trained resource persons who would be working towards sustainability of ground water resources across the country with community participation. Total of 1,21.227 participants including ground water professionals /sub professional as well as stake holders at the grassroots level participated in the 1823 programmes organized at RGNGWTRI till 31.10. 2025.

RECOGNITION/ACCREDITATION

RGNGWTRI has been accredited with National Standards for Civil Services Training Institute (NSCSTI) under the Capacity Building Commission (CBC) with "ATI UTTAM" level of recognition, vide Certificate No:APP/23/N00084 dated 22/11/2023. This prestigious recognition signifies RGNGWTRI commitment towards delivering quality capacity building and training programs in the domain of groundwater science to entire spectrum of stakeholders in water sector.
